Pyramidal Orchids, Barton upon Humber

An absolutely stunning display of pyramidal orchids this year, the verges are literally covered in them. There is more common broomrape than in previous years so must have benefited from the recent rains followed by sun. They really are a spectacle to see and not too far from home.

Pyramidal and Common Broomrape that was past it's best

Our garden, looking good !

Plenty of peas on, can't beat fresh picked pod peas

Peas, dahlias and a grapevine

We have quite a large garden, although not big enough for us and we are looking to move. We have been looking for a year and not found our dream house, but definately not giving up!  We have a large lawn, borders, raised beds and massive veg plots. The harvest has just started with potatoes and onions on hand and a cutting of spinach every morning for our omelettes. Delicious !
We also make all our own compost with 3 composters and 2 wormeries in action. Nothing goes to waste.

and this is little Pixi cat, fast asleep in an old fishing net, tucked away with the spiders in the woodshed. How can she possibly be comfortable balancing on a bit of firewood ?!

Southern Marsh Orchids, Cleethorpes

A lovely walk at Cleethorpes to see the southern marsh orchids. They were, without a shadow of doubt, spectacular. Absolutely stunning. Swathes of them, 1000's of beautiful orchids. Meadow after meadow of orchid spikes. magical !

A walk back to the car through the Boating Lake gave us many barnacles with leg bling and a bar-headed goose !!
