Cobra Warrior, RAF Waddington, Lincs

 

2 drones in a distant hanger, they did push one out to please the crowd !

A brilliant morning at the fence at RAF Waddington to watch the Cobra Warrior exercise. Masses of people from all over the country with 100's of sets of cracking ladders ! Pity they took off at the 'other end'  so they were well and truly airborne by the time they came over the crowds, so a return trip is needed next week when the wind direction has changed. 

The first 2 jets up were French Rafale's followed by the Turkish Airforce F16's and Saudi Arabia's F15's. Topped off with a couple of drones, a brilliant morning !

Always good to see and this lot were busy pairing up, spring is just around the corner !

Eastern Yellow Wagtail, Winteringham, North Lincs

 

A dash up the road to Winteringham to see the Eastern Yellow Wagtail, which is a new Lincs tick for us. Our last one was in Norfolk but that was years ago. The bird was in a large flock of pied wagtails that were never still. Parking easy and a stroll down the lane to the ploughed field with the aroma of Chanel sewage !

Hen Harrier !!

 

The last of our pics of the male hen harrier, we haven't seen him for about 2 weeks now but a ringtail still remains around this field as we saw her on Sunday.  We have been so lucky this winter with 4 hen harriers at a couple of locations that we watched from the warmth and comfort of our car and then last week we had a 6 short eared owl afternoon !  Although they had all gone the following day and despite looking in favourable fields nearby, there was no sign. Fingers crossed they all return next winter xx
