Sand Martins

Seen 1000's of sand martins today, never seen so many at one sight. A pleasure to watch. Also living close by was a peregrine. Easy food so he hangs around!

Little Owl

Found this family of little owls last week, 2 adults and 3 chicks. Went to the site again yesterday and one of the chicks had died. We found the body, possibly taken by a fox. The two remaining chicks are very active now and have mastered the art of flight!

These have bred in our garden and each evening two youngsters venture out to see whats for supper. It's usually a tin of dog food which they love!
