Karen found a flock of about 20 waxwings in Scunthorpe. Re-located 10 of them the next day. These were in a garden on Doncaster Road feeding on berries.
Valentine's Day started off exceptionally well with a sighting of 6 Hawfinches and 2 Crossbills. Simon then took me for an 'all day breakfast' which was scrumptious ! (Cory's Cafe, Midland Road, Scunthorpe - highly recommended). After many sights we finished the day off at Alkborough. The sun shone and it was a lovely day.
A very cold drive down Park Farm Drain produced an overwintering Chiff Chaff that just wouldn't stay still. The whoppers were still down there, sitting just one field too far away.
