Leucistic Great-crested Grebe

Still here on this private site and doubled in size since we last saw it. Lots of diving for food but still begging ! It is one of three chicks and all a good size now.

Small Red-eyed Damselfly

We saw red-eyed damselfly at this site a couple of weeks back, now we see small red-eyed damselfly, both new for us. What a cracking morning !

Kingfishers

Leucistic great-crested grebe framed by a couple of kingfishers......it doesn't get much better than this !

Two distant kingfishers with the great-crested grebe. The best mornings birding we have had in a long time !  At least 2 pairs of kingfishers here on this private site.

Curlew Sandpipers, Blacktoft Sands

A good hour in Singleton Hide, plenty of waders but these 2 curlew sandpipers were the main attraction. Pity about the ten million black thunder flies that made staying impossible !
