A few garden planters

 

We have well over 100 planters, stuffed full of beautiful flowers that look absolutely stunning right now. We have planted alot of fuchsias this year, all of them giant so each flower is as big as my hand. We have some marbled giants aswell which are fantastic. We still have a few left to flower so looking forward to seeing those. Our garden looks the best it has ever looked this year........although watering is a flipping nightmare !!

Silver-washed Fritilaries

 

We are so lucky to have a small colony of silver-washed fritillaries very close to home. They have been flying for a couple of weeks now but never landing. A look today and we saw at least 6 with a couple of them finally landing and nectaring. These two mated while we were there, the female, very tatty,  looks like she has been popular ! Will have another visit next week while the sun still shines.

and a Gatekeeper in the garden. We have a massive buddleia in the garden which is totally devoid of any butterflies or insects this year. This is the first year we haven't had any butterflies at all on it. A sign of the extinction that is happening right infront of our eyes yet most people are too stupid to notice. When will the population wake up........
