Aurora Borealis, Northern Lights, Broughton Bridge, N. Lincs

Waiting !

The start !  We had stood on Broughton Bridge for well over an hour, infact we sat as I had taken garden chairs with us thinking it might be a long haul stay.....good thinking. We had a flask and biscuits so we were all set.  Lots of people arrived and the bridge soon filled up with eager sky watchers. It seemed to take an age for the sun to go down and then even longer for it to get dark. Grateful that we had an expert in the crowd who had set his camera up for the nightime colours and after dark he was calling out colours which, at first were invisible to the naked eye. But the sky appeared to be moving and shades of pink became visible. Then it got brighter and brighter. And then oh my goodness, words cannot describe the sky. One of life's precious moments and I hope one day that it is repeated, who knows !

Hope you have enjoyed our pics !

Brumby Woods

A few bluebells still in flower. Think we should have been a week earlier to see these in all their glory.
Not to worry, the woods are just at the end of our road. We are so lucky !

The wild garlic has been sensational this year, the sight and the smell of it as you walk through the woods is overpowering. Beautiful xx

And we found a huge clump of yellow archangel

Woodcock

Waiting for a nightjar and getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. A rodding woodcock gave us excellent views before we beat a retreat. No amount of deet could have kept them at bay.......we will return !

 WOWSERS !!!!!

These pics are from my phone, haven't yet looked at the camera. Back again tonight as another storm forecast but the weather is not so good, we have cloud forecast. See how we go !

It was a first for us and one ticked off the bucket list. Words cannot describe it, it brought me near to tears if I am honest ! One of life's moments xx
