Hopefully one day their kids/grandchildren ask them "Dad, what are Short-eared Owls and why aren't there any about anymore?", and they have to explain to them that they'd rather grab more cash than conserve a small area for the future of wildlife.
Of course their kids will probably be raised not caring, like their parents...
They should be ashamed of themselves, probably retaliation to their other fantastic idea of theirs that got turned down, to build a wind farm.
