Blacktoft Sands, Yorks

A visit there this evening was very rewarding with 3 little egrets and a grey heron infront of the hide. A marsh harrier flew in briefly and seemed to take a snail from the water, which was quickly dropped! A few bearded tits were flying in and out of the reeds, 2 green sandpipers and spotted redshank were also on a distant island. An excellent reserve, probably the best we have in this area.
