With clear blue skies we decided to head to the Muddy Boots Cafe at Harewood House to see the red kites. Last time we went there were very few birds around, most of them out feeding in the fields following the recent harvest. This time, again, very few birds. The locals thought they were feeding on pheasants that had been left during the recent shooting season. We saw approx 10-15 birds, which is certainly nothing to complain about but when there is a lack of other food, a good 50 birds come in to be fed. Anyway, a good day out in good company with the best drinking chocolate ever !
