Hawfinches, Lincolnshire

Fabulous birds in perfect light !

Brick Yard Lane, Lincs

Twite and Sanderling at Brick Yard Lane today. We drew a big fat zero with shore lark, probably something to do with the packs of dogs that constantly ran all over the beach.

Royal Scot 46100, Babworth Sidings, Retford

The old and the new - side by side

Spot the birdwatcher !

Every boys dream !

The Royal Scot was the flagship locomotive of the London, Midland & Scottish Railway Company, operating the fastest services on the West Coast from London to Manchester and Glasgow. After a 5 year overall, she returned to steam on the mainline in 2016.  The Royal Scot is a class of 4-6-0, British Rail number 46100. She was built in 1927 and was named after the Royal Scots.

Here she is today at Retford in Nottinghamshire, stopping to take on water and was welcomed by a lovely, enthusiastic crowd.

Grey Seals at Donna Nook, Lincs

The males were starting to gather up the beach, constantly battling and growling at one another, trying to woo the ladies.

Aaaw - I Love You Mum xx

Snoring !

A mid-week visit to Donna Nook after seeing the phalarope at Covenham. Easily got parked, not too many people which made it a pleasant visit. Always nice to see the seals and especially, the new born pups which make you go aaaw xx  Well over 500 pups with plenty more still to come.
