Waxwings, Doncaster

We visited these 80 waxwings in Doncaster earlier in the week but the weather was dire on that day, greyer than grey, so with blue sky we decided to head off there again. To start with, there seemed to be about 40 waxwings present, but after a couple of hours, more flew in, then a few more and we were soon back up to the 80 flock. The sun shone all day and the waxwings were quickly eating the remaining few berries, having already stripped about 6 trees. There was just less than half a trees worth left, so would only give these another day here. As soon as the food is gone, they will be off to look for more. Waxwings, got to one of everyone's favourite birds.
