Great white egret at Alkborough Flats and other goodies

A walk round Alkborough today with 3 whinchats and then this great white egret that has been around for a while.  Amazing how many birders walked straight past this big white bird  !

 Greenshank

Ringed plovers and dunlin

Barnacle geese

Grey Heron with supper

Whinchat

Curlew. Pity the reeds couldn't be cut infront of the hide so birdwatchers could actually see the birds.

Finished a fantastic day off with this sunset spoonbill. A brilliant day, in good company with a good laugh putting the birding world to rights.
